You and Your General Practice

Our policy

You and Your General Practice (YYGP) describes what practices and patients can expect of each other and has been developed to help patients get the best from their GP team. YYGP also sets out how patients and or their representatives can provide feedback or raise concerns about their GP practice. All GP practices will have a link to the YYGP information on their website from the 1st October 2025, on the practice website home page.

If you want to give feedback or raise a concern you can contact your practice manager. If preferred, you can leave your feedback with the ICB

Core general practice hours

• Our contracted hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:30pm.
• Consultations are available within these hours.

Please note: At certain times (such as during lunch or towards the end of the working day) a clinician may not be present in the building.

In an emergency

• Dial 999 or attend your nearest Emergency Department.

For non-urgent medical advice

• Call NHS 111. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Practice site information

Meadowfield Surgery

• Opening Hours: Monday to Friday from 8am to 6:30pm. An intercom system is in place after 6pm if you attend in person.
• Lunch Closure: 12pm to 1pm. During this time, doors are closed. You can still contact us by telephone, going online using the practice’s website or the NHS App. An intercom system is available if you attend Meadowfield surgery in person.

Branch Sites

Esh Winning and Ushaw Moor

• Opening Hours: Monday to Friday from 8am to 5:30pm
• Lunch Closure: 12pm to 1pm. During this time, doors are closed. You can still contact us by telephone, going online using the practice’s website or the NHS App.
• After 5:30pm: Please contact Meadowfield Surgery on 0191 378 0651.

Tow Law and Langley Park

• Opening Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 8am to 5:30pm
• Thursday: 8am to 12pm
• Lunch Closure: 12:00pm to 1:00pm. During this time, doors are closed. You can still contact us by telephone, going online using the practice’s website or the NHS App.
