Your Voice: If you need to see a doctor, you should be able to get seen that week, not 3-4 weeks.
Our Move: We know it can be frustrating when the routine slots are booked up. Our care navigators assess urgency and will offer appointment appropriately. This might not be with a GP and you may be directed to other services, for example, the Chemist. We are aware that you may have to wait longer than you would like for routine appointments, however if your need is urgent, you will be offered a same day appointment.

Your Voice: My appointment was for 9:50, I didn’t see the doctor until 10:20. Not happy with the wait and no explanation as to why I had to wait for half an hour.
Our Move: Thank you for your feedback. We're really sorry you experienced a delay and weren’t given an explanation at the time. We understand how frustrating it is when appointments run late. Sometimes earlier consultations take longer than expected, especially if a patient needs urgent or complex care, but we should always keep you informed. Our Move: Thank you for your feedback. We understand how frustrating it can be when appointments feel difficult to access. Demand for GP appointments is very high at the moment, but we’re doing everything we can to make it easier — including our care navigation system designed by the GP which informs our care navigators the time scale you need to be seen. Your comments are really helpful, and we’ll continue working to improve the booking experience for our patients.

Your Voice: Every individual should have one doctor who knows all your history, not to see a doctor whom you have never met and doesn’t know nothing about you.
Our Move: Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We understand why many patients would prefer to see the same doctor each time, and continuity of care is something we value too. Unfortunately, due to the size of our patient list and the way GP practices now work as a team, it isn’t always possible to guarantee appointments with a specific doctor. However, all our clinicians have access to your full medical record, so whoever you see will be able to review your history and provide safe, informed care. We do try to book you in with the GP of your choice, however this may lead to a longer wait for your appointment.

Your Voice: I am an HGV driver, and I am away Monday to Friday so if I need to see a doctor, I have to take a day off work, and it can only be a Monday which I cannot afford. I know the doctors work hard but there should be some sort of way around this problem
Our Move: Thank you for your comment. We understand how difficult it can be to attend appointments when you work away during the week, and we appreciate you sharing your concerns. To help patients in situations like yours, we offer an out-of-hours GP service at our Meadowfield site, which includes appointments on Saturdays. This can make it easier to be seen without needing to take time off work. If you ever need help arranging one of these appointments, please let us know and we’ll be happy to assist.
