Nurse Clinics
Specialist Practitioner
An experienced practice nurse who has undergone additional training to enable her to manage chronic illnesses such as diabetes, asthma and COPD. Our Specialist Practitioner is also able to prescribe a range of medicines.
Nurse Practitioner
A Registered General Nurse who has undergone additional training to enable her to assess and manage a range of problems including:
- Chest
- Urinary
- Eye
- Minor skin complaints and rashes
- Muscular problems
- Minor injuries
- Ear problems
- Vaginal discharge
- Various other minor illnesses
All our Nurse Practitioners are able to prescribe a range of medicines. They are NOT able to issue fit for work certificates or repeat prescriptions. If you are unsure whether you should see the nurse practitioner or doctor, the receptionist will be able to advise you.
Practice Nurse
An experienced Registered General Nurse whose role is very varied and includes general treatment room duties as well as nurse led clinics in health promotion and chronic disease management.
Treatment Room Nurse
A Registered General Nurse who carries out general treatment room duties, working closely with the practice nurse.
Nursing Assistant
Nursing Assistants are not trained nurses; however they have undergone extensive training and have a variety of skills. They work closely with other members of the nursing team.
Coronary Heart Disease Nurse
A Registered General Nurse who has undergone additional training to enable her to manage and support patients with coronary heart disease and diabetes.
